In Memoriam: Dr. Mark Buettner, Esteemed Healer and Educator
Peoria, Illinois – The Peoria community is grieving the loss of Dr. Mark Buettner, an esteemed physical therapist and chiropractor, whose recent passing was announced in a heartfelt social media post. Dr. Buettner, known for his dedication to healthcare and admired as a devoted family man, peacefully departed this life surrounded by his loved ones.
A Peoria native and a 1992 graduate of Peoria Notre Dame, Dr. Buettner was a guiding light in the community. His educational journey led him to Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Palmer College of Chiropractic, with additional studies at Bradley University. Over a span of more than two decades, he built a career that began as a Personal Trainer at the Landmark Racquet & Health Club.
Beyond being a healthcare professional, Dr. Buettner was a mentor and educator, devoting himself to teaching patients the principles of self-care and independence. His approach to treatment was rooted in evidence-based practices, particularly focusing on musculoskeletal conditions.
Recognized for his compassionate nature and unwavering dedication, Dr. Buettner served as a source of strength and inspiration to both patients and colleagues. His commitment extended beyond his professional life, reflecting in his faith and community involvement.
At home, Dr. Buettner was a loving husband to Pamela Thompson Buettner and a devoted father to their five children. His family held a special place in his heart, and his passing leaves an irreplaceable void in their lives.
The Buettner family invites the community to join them in commemorating Mark’s life. Visitation and vigil services will take place on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 3 pm to 6 pm at St. Mark’s Church, 1113 W Bradley Avenue, Peoria. The funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Philomena’s Church, 1000 W Albany Ave, Peoria.
