Five music videos released this week that you need to watch

Over the past week, a number of our favourite artists have released brand new music videos for their latest offerings. From rainbow dogs to road trips, female empowerment to fierce street parties, we’ve seen it all and we’ve loved every second.

In case you’ve missed any of this week’s biggest music videos, we’ve rounded up five that you need to be watching right now.

Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato – ‘Solo’

A few weeks after the track’s release, Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato have the unveiled the music video for their hot collaboration ‘Solo’. The visual is wonderfully bizarre, and sees Clean Bandit’s Grace Chatto star as the heartbroken lead. Her bandmates Jack and Luke Patterson play a pair of mad scientists who are conjuring up a potion which turns Grace’s ex into a rainbow dog, whilst shots of Demi are also intertwined throughout. Madness, but it works!

Maroon 5 and Cardi B – ‘Girls Like You’

Maroon 5 have released the music video for ‘Girls Like You’, which now features a guest verse from Cardi B. The visual is bursting with cameos from some of our favourite females including Cardi herself, Camila Cabello, Gal Gadot, Lilly Singh, Tiffany Haddish, Millie Bobby Brown, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Lopez, Chloe Kim, Mary J. Blige, Ashley Graham, and Rita Ora. If we didn’t already love the diverse range of strong and inspirational women in the video, it finishes with Adam embracing two of the most important ladies in this life, his wife Behati Prinsloo and their eldest daughter Dusty Rose.

Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin – ‘I Like It’

Cardi B also released her own music video this week, for her infectious hit ‘I Like It’ featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Directed by Eif Rivera, the visual sees the trio dancing and rapping at a Latin American street party, amongst various other scenes which will definitely get you into the summer party spirit. We’ve also got SO MUCH clothes envy, as Cardi slays in a number of stunning outfits.

Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani – ‘What I Need’

Dropping just before Pride month, Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani have released the music video for ‘What I Need’. Directed by the “Lesbian Jesus” herself, Hayley has put together a mini-movie which ensures that #20GayTeen remains strong. The visual sees Kehlani and Hayley going on a road trip of a lifetime after Kehlani argues with her less than supportive aunt. Whilst the road trip is golden for the most part, later on in the video their car breaks down and the girls get separated after Kehlani accepts a lift from a truck driver. You’ll have to keep watching to see if the girls get their happy ending!

The 1975 – ‘Give Yourself a Try’

The 1975 made their long awaited comeback this week with ‘Give Yourself a Try’. Directed by Diane Martel, the video sees the band perform the song in a mirrored room whilst some of the most striking lyrics are highlighted on screen. During the track’s premiere on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show, The 1975 frontman Matt Healy revealed that the band will be releasing a new album in October titled A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships with a follow up titled Notes on a Conditional Form due in May 2019.
