Protest at the Idaho State Capitol over Governor Little's stay-at-home order

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) – Several groups gathered on the steps of the Idaho Statehouse on Friday afternoon to protest the extension of Idaho's stay-at-home order.

The groups included the Idaho Freedom Foundation, the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance and Health Freedom Idaho.

Several speakers addressed the crowd during the event.

“We hope and we pray that this movement that we have here today will not just make a change here in Idaho, but that we will spark a movement to end this type of government overreach, government abuse of power and these authoritarian power grabs that are happening all around the world, let it start right here in Idaho,” one speaker said.

During the event, protesters waved flags and signs as they listened to speakers.

“We’re here to express that our belief and our freedom can’t be taken away by government or disease or war,” said Gene Hudnall of Caldwell.

Similar protests were being held in Lewiston and Sandpoint.
